Friend,
We all deal with fear. Whether it’s fear of heights or fear of taking risks, fear is inevitable. The other night, I had a business meeting. I was presented with an offer to do what I’ve always wanted to do….. Open up a boutique. What did I do? I allowed fear to overtake me. I thought of all of the things that could go wrong instead of all of the things that could go right. I thought about the metrics of how that could even work, and I scared myself out of a blessing. Can you relate? Do you pass up opportunities and keep yourself from leveling up, because of the “what ifs”? The problem with this way of thinking is, we are going to live in regret the more and more we allow fear to override our decisions. We could live more abundant lives if we would only decide to replace fear with confidence.
OBEDIENCE OVER FEAR
In order to combat fear, I’ve been increasing my prayer against fear and praying for an increase of confidence and wisdom. I have also started to put myself out there more, by going to events that would align me with my purpose, accepting collaboration deals that would further push the call on my life, and yielding to the direction that the Holy Spirit has been guiding me. These actionable shifts allowed me to gain the confidence I needed to succeed, and unglue my feet from the ground! God’s original plans will come to fruition as we learn to be obedient to Him. God tells us not to fear approximately 365 times in the Bible. He knows that it is a natural occurrence of the human mind, but He points us to a more peaceful direction instead. He wants us to come to Him with our worries. Philippians 4:6-7 says,
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
What fears do you need to face? What regrets are you living with that you can replace with obedience? Let’s accomplish greatness together. Go get ’em, Friend!
