It seems that we are nearing some form of relief from the plandemic as the government tries to re-open the economy. Many people are eager to get back into what used to be our “normal”. We are not completely in the clear as we slowly pace ourselves back into normalcy. I caution you to make the most of the rest of your time in this season of adjustment. This pause of life taught me some powerful things that I realized were pertinent to the overall health of life, regardless if we are in a recession, plandemic, or such the like. So these are some things that may also help you should you ever find yourself in a season of adjustment or stagnation.

LEARN TO COOK HEALTHIER

The internet is saturated with knowledge. Google some of your favorite dishes, and try to find healthier alternatives. I don’t know about you, but the realization of the additives and alterations of our food supply has urged me to make better choices when it comes to my habits. This means being discerning when it comes to what goes into my food, which urges me to cook my food, and cook it as organically as possible. Instead of eating out and being unsure about how my food is prepared before I digest it, I prepare it myself. This also gives me the better understanding of what I like, experiment with different culinarily, and adjust my health. I am a firm believer that food should be thy medicine. Genesis 1:29 says, “God declares that He has given humans every tree with seed-bearing fruit as food, and every green plant for food to all living creatures.” We’ve gotten so far away from this scripture that it is sickening. The enemy has poisoned and altered God’s original creation to keep us sick, tired, dependent, and obese. Look at your family history. Just think about all the fruit that is becoming “seedless” for our convenience. Friend, might I tell you a secret that the Holy Spirit taught me? Convenience is not typically best for us. Growth lies in inconvenience. Read that again. Sometimes we need to go look at the ingredients at the grocery store instead of relying on Instacart to deliver our food. Sometimes we need to cook instead of being fed by a restaurant. Sometimes we need to learn to grow our own food instead of relying on convenient GMO produce in the grocery store. Sometimes we need to drive a little further to meet our farmers and learn from their practices in order to incorporate them into our own lifestyles. I urge you to look around your circles and recognize how lazy the indoctrination of the world has made us. What types of ailments run through your bloodline? Diabetes? High cholesterol? What types of ailments do you personally have that you can improve? Use more organic produce in your diet, take a more holistic approach, try ground turkey instead of beef, try cooking from scratch instead of boxed meals. I will be adding some recipes to my YouTube channel so that you can get some ideas on how I affordably prepare healthy and fulfilling dishes. I will show you how I learned to make alternative adjustments to align my diet with how God originally intended.

HAVE SOME ME TIME

When you are in seasons of stagnation, sometimes those are the best times to implore some “Me Time”. This is the season where you are excused to SLOW DOWN. Take some time to look inwards while you are indoors. Have you noticed how happy your body is, now that you have gotten some time to relax? Have you been anxious? Maybe it is time for you to do some meditation and breathing exercises. Just take a moment to be present. We cannot forget about our mental health when the world seems to be in turmoil. Don’t allow the media to make you anxious and stressed. That will only open the door to sickness and stress. Be mindful about what your body needs in this hour. Take advantage of this time to pace yourself, because when you exit your season of stagnation, you will be entering back into a fast paced world without a life jacket. Here are some other ways to have some me time.

PRAY

2 Chronicles 7:14 has been a consistent scripture in my mind throughout these past few months. It says, “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” Whether you want to believe it or not, we are living through the last days, and though none of us know when the last day or hour will be, it would behoove us all to humble ourselves and pray. There is only One true and living God that holds the keys to our destiny. Take this time to pray for the world, pray for the workers that are on the front lines saving lives. Pray for strength and health for yourself and others. Pray for those who have lost loved ones and need understanding and encouragement.

CREATE

Now that you have idle time, what is it that you can do to get your creative juices flowing? We all have our own unique talents. What is it that you can creatively contribute to yourself and the world? Once we tap into our creative worlds, we are one step closer to being more God-sufficient.

GET ORGANIZED

I don’t know about you, but as daunting as organizing can be, it NEEDS to be done. Your future self will thank you, trust me. If are in a season of stagnation, and you don’t have much to do, why not make your life a more manageable place to inhibit? Organize your work life as well; clear your emails, organize your bills, start your financial peace journey, pack up some old clothes to donate, and rearrange your furniture. The list could go on, but these are some things that helped me that could get you started on the right path of organization for your next season.

RECONNECT WITH YOUR LOVED ONES

In seasons of stagnation, it is easier to have more time to spend more time with loved ones. I don’t know about you, but the plandemic has given me a greater appreciation for those that I love and how much they mean to me. It is important that we don’t lose touch. Check on your people and make sure they are okay. Take this time to be selfless and serve others, which will replenish you. If you are not visiting them, at least call them or text them. Don’t make it harder than it has to be, just do it. Don’t take anyone for granted.

SPREAD AN ACT OF KINDNESS

As we speak, Zayden’s (my son) baseball coach along with a couple of other coaches rode down our street handing out free lunches. That warmed my heart to know that there are so many acts of kindness out there that we can do to either make it easier on someone else or at least to make them smile. Be selfless in a world full of selfishness. It doesn’t have to be anything on a large scale, it could be something as simple as randomly telling your kids you love them, or bringing a neighbor a home cooked meal.

ENJOY NATURE

This is one thing we can do without having to stress about that could be impeding to anyone else’s life. This is one of the easiest ways you can take time and be one with nature. I love being in nature because I am able to be in my own world without worrying about…anything. This is the the easiest way to practice being present. How does it feel? What do you smell? What do you hear? Try putting your phone down while you are outdoors. Try being unplugged for a while. Some of us are so connected to the world majority of the time, and rarely take the time to disconnect and de-complicate life. My friend, trust me, you have nothing to lose. Being outdoors is one of my personal favorite hobbies, and I urge you to try it. I will never take a kayaking trip for granted again.

EXERCISE

Exercising is scientifically proven to improve your mood. When we are in seasons of stagnation or boredom, our bodies adjust to our stillness, and in turn our metabolism goes down. I have finally been able to learn how to be more consistent with working out. My issue has always been consistancy when it comes to working out and it is mainly because it usually seems like a hassle. A hassle to wake up early, put on workout clothes, drive to the gym, and THEN finally workout. So I tend to get a gym membership only to cancel it without use months later. During this season, I have learned how to push my body without a gym or equipment. I started working out at home in order to uncomplicate the task and to eliminate my excuses. I have posted some videos here that could encourage you to do the same. Get your endorphins moving in the right direction and get your health on track. Besides, if you’re like me, you have been eating a lot during this season. So why not work it back off and be proud of yourself for achieving your health goals?

LEARN A NEW SKILL

What skill is it that you have always wanted to learn but never had the time to devote to it? You have the time now, my Friend. Go out and learn. Knowledge is powe, don’t waste it.

I pray for you and your family. May God continue to strengthen you and build you up. Be strong my through this season, my friend.
