Friend,
Have you ever just need a moment to yourself? Like a moment of complete silence, away from the crowd, the noise, and your cares? Same. Maybe you’ve had a rough day at work. Maybe your kids have been acting out of character. Maybe you are exhausted the demands of life. Whatever the case, we have all been tested to the point of exhaustion. In fragile moments like these, it is so important to get away. Even if it’s just for a moment. Whatever you need to do to release, do it. If you need to punch a pillow, do it. If you need to go for a walk or run, do it. If you need to yell or cry, do it!!! I am personally quick to take a hot bubble bath with lots of candles and soft music. It’s something about the calmness and scenery that allows me, to put things into perspective. Think of it as your moment to count to ten before you blow up.
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
It is so important to listen to what your feelings are telling you, which ties into self care. You have to make sure that YOU are taking care of YOU before YOU go crazy. Think about the people that are connected to you. When you’re not at your best, it can take a toll on them. You may even take your frustrations out on them unnecessarily.
REGAIN PERSPECTIVE
After you’ve had your moment, just know that you can’t stay down. You can’t stay in your funk forever, you’ve gotta climb out. Think about the things that are going well in your life. Think about the people that love you and what you’re grateful for. God is good all of the time no matter how bad we feel our lives are going. His timing is impeccable. I think it’s a good time for me to stop writing so that you can take a moment with God and listen to what he wants to say to your heart.
